WORKPLACE SAFETY PLAN

In an attempt to minimize the risk of transmitting COVID-19 in the workplace, either between employees or with customers, the following guidelines are to be followed until further notice.

Prohibited from Premises (Workplace):

  1. Anyone who has had symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days. Symptoms include fever, chills, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, and new muscle aches or headache.
  2. Anyone directed by Public Health to self-isolate.
  3. Anyone who has arrived from outside of Canada or who has had contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case must self-isolate for 14 days and monitor for symptoms.

General Precautions:

  1. Face masks are to be worn in all work spaces where the employee is in proximity with other colleagues or members of the public (e.g., customers, suppliers, drivers, etc.).
  2. Wash your hands frequently – Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds using soap and warm water. Wash the entire surface of both hands – including between each finger.  If soap and water are not available, use just enough hand sanitizer to cover the hands and fingers, then rub your hands together until they dry.
  3. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  5. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or the crux of your elbow.
  6. If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, please do the following:
    1. Call the General Manger (604.819.7439) and let him know.
    2. Stay home to recover and protect your coworkers from possible infection.
    3. Call 811 and/or see a health care professional and listen to their recommendations. Get tested if they recommend it.
    4. Stay home to self-isolate for 14 days if recommended.

Elimination Precautions:

  1. There is a limit of no more than 3 customers in the store at any given time. A sign will be posted at the entrance to notify customers of the policy.
  2. Designated employees will be allowed to work from home in order to reduce the overall body count in the workplace.
  3. No in-person meetings will be held unless the minimum 2-meter (6 feet) distance can be maintained. Group meetings will be held using a virtual platform, such as Zoom.
  4. The lunch room is limited to no more than 3 individuals as long as the minimum 2-meter (6 feet) distance can be maintained.
  5. When visiting a colleague’s office, avoid entering the office and speak to them from the door.
  6. No one, other than employees, are allowed in the fabrication and warehouse areas. When an employee has to enter these areas, minimum distancing requirements must be adhered to.

Engineering Controls:

  1. Customers entering the store must stand on the designated squares until one leaves allowing each individual to move to the next designated square. Arrows will be applied to the floor to help indicate the flow of traffic.
  2. Physical barriers (e.g., table, ribbon and signage) have been installed to help maintain minimum distancing of 2 meters (6 feet) between customers and sales staff.

Administrative Controls:

  1. All common touch points (e.g., light switches, door handles, counter surfaces, etc.) will be wiped down every morning.
  2. Each employee will have access to cleaning products and are encouraged to wipe down their immediate working area regularly throughout the day.
  3. POS terminal needs to be wiped down after every transaction.

PPE
